The solutions and resources offered at The Zion Institute are a transformational process out of poverty, designed to meet people’s needs.
Nonprofit services can create a dependency on the organization, rather than leading to the individual being able to sustain themselves.
This can lead to the exploitation of impoverished communities and individuals, becoming more like "poverty maintenance" which doesn't help move the person forward.
Our support is designed to create a permanent transformation leading to healthy individuals, families, and communities, not just a temporary fix.
The Zion Institute employs asset- based community development (ABCD) tools to leverage resources for the development of individuals, the community, and the marketplace to foster an improved quality of life for south Phoenix residents.
Zion is known for being “The Well”, where residents are met at their point of need to begin a healing journey to break the cycles of poverty.
What sets Zion apart is our approach. We leverage resources to expand our abilities, while building the capacity of others. We rely on the gifts, talents and experiences of our service network to create sustainability during the most difficult times. This is how we build and strengthen relationships and lives.
